The more I see of the world, the more I grieve over the pain, brokenness, suffering and loss that seems to surpass all cultural barriers, all state lines, and all demographics. From the on-going war in the Congo, to the suffering in Syria it’s impossible to ignore. Do some people suffer more than others? Probably, yes. But suffering and pain is part of being human.
We live in a fallen world were the consequences of sin are very present. What is our responsibility to help and support those hurting? Who are we to turn to when we are in pain?
God’s Love for Us
Did you know that the God of the whole universe loves you and want you to come to Him with your pain and brokenness? He knows every tear that you shed, every thought that is in your mind, and every desire that is on your heart.
Psalm 139 says that God is acquainted with all our ways. He knows when you sit down and when you stand up. There is no where you can go that He is not present. God is good. He is a good Father. And He is really good at putting us back together when we are broken.
It’s only when we know Him that we can then go and serve the poor as we have been called to do.
