Church Vision:

Bible classes: Deepening the Word! Participate! These are opportunities to grow in faith meet other members of the parish, and motivate you to the service in the Kingdom of Christ.

Adult Bible classes: All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV).

Sunday Morning Adult Bible Fellowship class, conducted by Rev. Handrick, continues to meet on Sunday 8:50-9:40 a.m.. Current topic is Lutheran Worship. Sunday Morning Lutheran adult information class in Room 1 is led by Pastor Marks will begin on Sunday, September 13th,8:50-9:40 a.m. Topic: The Lutheran doctrine, history, and practice. Location of the Sunday morning Adult Bible Class in the Meeting Room of staff is directed by Gene Dreyer and resumes on Sunday, September 13th, following the combined classes opening of devotion. The topic is to be determined. Tuesday Ladies Bible Study is in Conference Room 1, under the leadership of Sally Handrick, and will be held on Monday, September 8th, 1:00 p.m. Subject is to be determined. Thursday morning Breakfast Bible Study at T„¢s place in Perry Plaza, led by Pastor Mark, continues on Thursday 6:30-8:00 a.m.. Current theme is Isaiah. Friday Berean Adult Bible Class continues, led by Pastor Handrick on Fridays 1:00-2:00 p.m. Current Topic: Spiritual issues in America today.

Advent focuses on the theme of our Savior. Christmas, New Year timetables are set. Savior of the Nationsis the theme for the Christmas season this year at Emmanuel. Services are 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Wednesday nights beginning December 2 through December 16. Services on Wednesday follow the order for Vespers at the Lutheran Service Book. Anticipating the birth of the Savior is also a focus of weekend worship - at 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. Sundays - during the season. November 29 is the first Sunday of Advent. Christmas services will include services for children, with presentations by children from Immanuel Lutheran School and Emmanuel Sunday School at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. The hours for December 24 candlelight service are planned for 11 p.m. Worship with Holy Communion is at 9 a.m. on Christmas Day. The worship follows.

Divine Service III in the hymnal: Two church services are planned in observance of the New Year, which also marks the observance of the circumcision of Jesus. Worship with Communion is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., New Year's Eve. Worship with Holy Communion is set for 9 a.m. on New Year„¢s Day and will follow Divine Service IV. Members are invited to help decorate the church at 9 a.m. on Saturday, December 12th.
