Temple Baptist Church
What we believe: The word. It is our mission to be a church centered on the Word of God. We believe the Bible is Gods written revelation to humanity. God wrote the scriptures by using and guiding some forty different authors so that the words written were precisely what God wanted. The scriptures while reflecting the different vocabularies and personalities of the writers are completely and without error the Word of God. God inspired the authors to the point that not only their thoughts inspired but also inspired the words which led them to write. (II Tim. 3: 16 17; Peter II 1:20 and 21; Matt 5: 18; John 16: 12 13). Trinity: We believe that one God eternally exists in three persons ?? Father Son and Holy Ghost – who are co-eternal and co-equal in all attributes with one another who live in eternal life heart-to-heart person-person relationship. At the same time God is one God and yet a God of three persons in their relationship. (Deuteronomy 6: 4; Matt 28: 19; II Cor. 13: 14; Luke 3: 21-22). The Lord Jesus Christ: We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who became man without ceasing to be God. Born into the world to reveal God and become the Savior and Redeemer of all sinful mankind (John 1: 1-2; Hebrews 1: 1-4). We believe that Jesus by His death on the cross bore the sins of all men and provided the way of forgiveness and acceptance of God for those who choose to trust in Him. We believe that Jesus rose from the dead which shows His identity as God and His successful defeat over the power of sin and death. We believe that Jesus ascended to his exalted place in Heaven to the right hand of His Father where He is head of the church directing it to carry His message of hope and salvation to the world (Romans 3: 24; I Peter 2: 24; Ephesians 1: 7). We believe that Jesus will return to establish Gods Kingdom on earth (I Thess. 4: 13 -18; Cor. 15: 24-26 51-57).
