St Paul Lutheran Church
Bible Study @ St. Paul: Members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Paul in New Ulm are devoted to the growth of the Word of God. We have made spiritual growth our priority. As a result St. Pauls offers an approach to Bible study of various settings times topics and methods to study the Word of God. We suggest you consider attendance at one or more courses on this website. May God be glorified in all our activities! – Sunday: Sunday Bible Hour meets at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday (9:15 a.m. in summer). – Youth Group: The high school age youth continue their Bible studies on Sunday nights at 7:00 p.m. Topics place and time will vary throughout the year. View the newsletter and Teen Blog for more information. – Bible Information Class – This class is the entry into the St. Paul??s for those who wish to join the church. There is also an ideal refresher course for current members of the basic truths of the Bible that our church teaches. Watch for announcements of these classes or contact the church office if you need more information. It meets on Sunday. – Monday Bible Study: Pastor Smith leads a Bible study every Monday at 12:05 p.m. and at 6:00 p.m. in the church library/conference room. Bring your dinner if you wish but you will also be filled spiritually. – Weight Loss: The First Place weight loss program is an orientation program on the Christian belief that people with weight problems and poor eating habits can be restored to emotionally whole right weighted people. This group led by Val Fischer meets at 6:00 p.m. at the Fireside Room. – Mens Club: A spiritual pre-game warm-up for the men meet Mondays at 7 p.m. in the teen center of the church. The club discusses truths of the Word of God. Those interested join in armchair quarterbacking game analysis and Christian friendship. Take a bag of snacks. – Tuesday: Women Walking in the Word – Complete your day with a 15-minute pitch to the Word of God followed by an hour walking inside (or outside weather permitting) St. Pauls School. We meet on Tuesdays at 6:45 p.m. in the lower levels of school. Bring a Friend! – Wednesday: Grieving Groups – The discussion is designed to help only those who have lost a loved one in recent years through their difficult times. This group meets for six sessions in the Fireside Room on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. Contact the church office for further information. – Thursday: Sunrise Current Events – a good group for those who like to start the day early and with the Word of God. Current Events which usually meets the first and third Thursday of every month begins at 6:00 a.m. with Bible reading and prayer and continues discussion of some hot current events. – Lunch with the Lord: A lunch-time Bible study for women to meet Jesus by reading and discussing the chapters from the Gospel of John. The group led by Pastor Sutton studies specific topics of particular interest arising from the discussions of the Bible. The group meets in the Parish Center from 12:00-12:55 p.m. on the first and third Thursdays of the month. – Teen Bible Study: This course is taught by staff Minister Mr. Brandon Steenbock for students of New Ulm Public High School and Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School. They meet Thursday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. of the clock in the auditorium at the school. – Teen Center: Grades 6-12 are invited teen center from 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. for Bible study game and activities. – I do not know much about: This group is designed especially for people who do not like Bible class or had never been to a Bible study. American-citizen MLC students and members of St. Paul who attend other Bible studies are asked politely not to join the group. – Bible Study in small groups: Small and friendly these groups usually number 6-8 participants and provide an opportunity to know other people while studying the Word of God. Contact the church office (354-3641) for information on locations and themes. – Common Interest groups: Workshops focus on issues such as divorce understanding depression individual education children marriage enrichment etc. are offered throughout the year. Please check the Bulletin and Script for times and locations of meetings. – Friday Moms Bible Class: Open to all women in the community and their guests this class offers a unique opportunity to study the Word of God and grow in fellowship with fellow Christians. Children are welcome with treats provided by participants and childcare on a rotating basis. The group will meet at 8:30 a.m. in the Fireside Room of the Parish. – Saturday-Jesus Cares: This class will meet at 9:45 a.m. and is for those who are developmentally challenged. The message of Christ crucified is presented.
