Grace Baptist Church
Baptism has been part of Christianity from the beginning as shown by the many mentions in the Acts and the Pauline epistles. Christians consider Jesus to have instituted the sacrament of baptism. We try to glority God faithful and true to what God has given us – the Bible. We are a conservative God-fearing Bible preaching and soul winning church. We seek to reach others in a way that would honor and please God. As our Senior Pastor always says It??s not about you; it??s not about me; it??s about our Lord Jesus Christ?. Jesus gave His church a very specific to-dolist before He left the earth and returned to the Father. We believe our instructions to go into the entire world and preach the gospel to every creatureis the prime directive of the church. Jesus also instructed us to make disciplesof Christ. Our vision is for a healthy growing thriving local church working hand in hand with our vision for world evangelism. We believe you cannot effectively have one without the other. Christians baptize in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit(following the Great Commission) but some baptize in Jesus name only. Most Christians baptize infants while many others do not. Our vision is to grow the Kingdom by growing the church and by growing the individual families and its members. John the Baptists use of a deep river for his baptism suggests immersion. Pictorial and archaeological evidence of Christian baptism from the Third Century onwards indicates that the normal form was to have the candidate stand in water while water was poured over the upper body. (Ephesians 4:16) According to this we will have growth in numbers and maturity.
